Thankful Thursday

We have a lot to be thankful for today.  June has been a busy month with Mom Paula on the road three weeks with her job and then gone for a week to BlogPaws.  She tells us that we are getting a lot of surprises with all of the swag, but she shipped it from Phoenix, so we don't have it yet.  Truffle is very thankful that Mom Paula is back home in front of the computer where she belongs - right where Truffle can rest in front of her.
Truffle monitors the phone while Mom Paula is working

We're going to have a busy July coming up.  It will be our 5th blogoversary and we have lots of surprises for you.  We hope everyone has a lot to be thankful for today.

She's Home

Mom Paula is home again.  She arrived around 9:00 pm last night and brought a thunderstorm with her!  We met her at the door, but almost as soon as she came in, those loud thunder boomers started. Truffle took off and hid for several minutes.  Brulee followed Mom Paula everywhere she went, even to the human litter box.  We hear Mom Paula has lots of swag for us, but she shipped it, so we won't get anything until the end of the week.  In the meantime, we're going to enjoy having Mom Paula back home (she has one extra day of vacation this week).
Please don't leave us for such a long period of time again

Quick! Hide in Here!

Mom Paula received a text message from the pet sitter yesterday that Brulee didn't like her anymore once she tried to clean her eyes.  The pet sitter said Brulee moved just out of reach and stood looking at DJ waiting for treats.  The pet sitter said Truffle wouldn't come close to her.  Brulee thinks she's found the purrfect hiding place where the pet sitter can't find her.
Hurry up, Truffle!  We can hide from the pet sitter in here until Mom Paula gets home

What the girls don't realize is that once Mom Paula gets home today, there will be eye cleaning, combing out mats, and toenail clipping.

Sunday Selfie

Truffle is waiting by the window for Mom Paula to come home from BlogPaws.  She decided to pause a few moments for a special Sunday Selfie to remind Mom Paula what's at home waiting for her.

Caturday Art

The pet sitter sent Mom Paula this photo of Brulee last night.  We thought we'd share it as part of the Caturday Art Blog Hop. We used pho.to.com and the Antique oil setting.  We love the look.

First Day of BlogPaws

Yesterday was the first official day of BlogPaws, so Flat Truffle and Flat Brulee were able to get out of the hotel room and go to meetings and meet some of our friends.  After breakfast in the hotel, Mom Paula went to a 3-hour workshop on Legal Dos and Don'ts of Blogging and Social Media.  She sat on the front row so she could see everything and Flat Brulee was sitting beside a woofie!  The woofie is Jada from The Chestnut Mutts.  We don't know if Jada liked Flat Brulee too much, but she really liked Mom Paula.  Of course, we hear Mom Paula was flirting with Jada.
Flat Brulee and Jada

The workshop was 3 hours, but Mom Paula learned a lot and took three pages of notes.  She said she learned some things she never knew.  During the break, the flats took a selfie with Mom Paula.

After the workshop, Mom Paula went to The Cat Lounge and the exhibit hall for a few minutes. We'll share more about some of the cool things she saw later this week.  The flats were also pleased to meet the famous Summer from Sparkle Cat.  Mom Paula says next to us, Summer is one of her favorite kitties.  Summer is very friendly and soft.
Summer, Flat Truffle, and Flat Brulee

Another woofie the flats were able to meet was Dexter from Fidose of Reality.  Dexter is such a friendly woofie and has the nickname "wigglebutt" because his little behind just wiggles when he's happy, which is most of the time.

Friday (today) is a busy day with workshops, sessions, and the Cat Writer's Awards Banquet.  Stay tuned for more from #BlogPaws

Mom Paula is Cheating on Us

Mom Paula is at BlogPaws and is having a blast networking with all of the humans behind the cat blogs (and some of the dog bloggers).  Mom Paula is rooming with Leah from Rascal and Rocco and Flat Truffle and Flat Brulee are serving as chaperones to make sure they are behaving.
Flat Truffle and Bruee guarding the room

There are some of our cat friends at BlogPaws.  Mom Paula was able to hold Coco from Coco, the Couture Cat.  Coco actually climbed onto Mom Paula's lap when they were in the lobby chatting.  We don't even do this.  Coco has a wardrobe that rivals that best of divas!  Summer is also here and someone took a photo of Mom Paula with her, but we don't remember who.  Christy from Christy Paws is also here.

Mom Paula attended a special Afternoon Tea event with AAHA this afternoon and won and exciting giveaway that she will be able to share with our readers soon.

Flat Kitties on the Road

The flats were able to visit Ichiro, Chey, and Gemini last night.  Mom Paula drove to Charlotte to get a cheaper flight and took advantage of visiting Bonnie to see her new house (The Male was also there.)  Mom Paula was able to visit Bonnie and the kitties when they lived in Washington a few years ago, but she never got to see Gemini because she didn't come out from under the bed.  Mom Paula was thrilled when Gemini came within 2 feet of her last night.  Here's Gemini with Bonnie.
Bonnie and Gemini

Mom Paula wishes Bonnie was traveling to Phoenix with her for BlogPaws this year.  They did room together in Nashville last  year and had a blast.  In the meantime, Flat Truffle and Flat Brulee are nestled in the backpack ready to fly out this morning.
Flat Truffle and Flat Brulee are #BlogPaws bound

Stay tuned this week for updates from BlogPaws.  Mom Paula hopes the pet sitter will send her some photos of us while she is away, but you'll definitely see our flat selves this week.

Flat Kitties Will Travel

Mom Paula has some regrets that she didn't harness and leash train us as kittens and take us on more trips so we could travel with her.  She wanted to take us to BlogPaws this week, but that would probably be a total disaster for all concerned, so she took some time this weekend and made a Flat Truffle and a Flat Brulee.  The last flats she made was about 3 years ago and they were pretty worn.  After several hours of work this weekend, we're excited to share our new flats.
Flat Brulee and Flat Truffle

The flats aren't as nice as she'd like them to be, but she's proud of her work.  Mom Paula has a new camera and she's hoping some blogging friends can help her learn how to use it while at BlogPaws.  Maybe we'll begin getting better photos in the future.

Mom Paula begins her trip by driving to Charlotte to stay overnight with Chey, Gemini, Ichiro, and Bonnie (and The Male) since they live near the airport.  Mom Paula is hoping she'll actually get to see Gemini this time.

Then, it's on to #BlogPaws

Packing Assistants

Mom Paula is preparing for a trip to her 2nd BlogPaws Conference.  We hear there will be lots of our kitty and woofie friends there along with their humans.  We're not going because we don't travel unless it's to the vet.  Mom Paula made some new flat kitties to take, so at least our presence will be felt in Phoenix.  We thought we'd help Mom Paula with her packing and pack a few silver furs in her suitcase to remember us by.

Sunday Selfie

Beautiful Truffle

It's Father's Day!  We know many of our furriends may not know who their biological daddy cats (and dogs) are, but we're very lucky that we were born and raised in a loving home with both our momma and daddy cats.  Jayden is the daddy cat to both of us (we have different momma cats). Jayden is a beautiful silver shaded Persian.  He's retired now and living in a wonderful forever home.  Mom Terri sent this recent photo of Jayden to us and we wanted to share it with you.

Mom Paula wants to wish a Happy Father's Day to her dad, Paul and an 80th birthday to her mom, Faye today.  She's so thankful both are still in her life and are able to do things with her.

International Box Day

It's one of our favorite days of the year because it's International Box Day.  There's nothing we kitties love more than getting into boxes and we have a lot of boxes around here lately because we're cooking up something special for our 5th blogoversary next month.  We went back to a photo from 2012 when we were kittens to create a graphic for Caturday Art that included us inside boxes.  We used PhotoFunia with the "sketch" effect.  We were pleased with the results.

Flashback Friday

Mom Paula posted this photo of us four years ago this date.  We would actually snuggle up together the first year we were together.  We don't do it anymore, so Mom Paula cherishes photos like this. Have a great weekend!

Hanging Out Waiting for Mom to Return

Mom Paula is working too hard lately.  She's been on the road every day the past two weeks and still has to travel a few more days before leaving for BlogPaws.  Brulee tends to hang out on the cat tree at the front door waiting for Mom Paula to get home.

Don't Touch Me

Truffle can be a sociable little Persian when she wants to be.  She loves to play, especially with Brulee.  Brulee, however, is the stereotypical little Persian and likes to lie around looking beautiful.  I can always tell when Truffle is in a playful mood.  She walks into the living room with her little strut and heads straight for Brulee.  Sometimes, Brulee will allow Truffle a few licks on her forehead and then she will hiss.  This usually doesn't deter Truffle and a scuffle soon follows.  I've learned that when this happens, I need to pull out the feather wand (one of many) to get Truffle's attention.  What's funny is that when I pull out the wand, Brulee goes crazy and wants to play too.  They are such cute little stinkers.  I captured this photo of the two of them and the look on Brulee's face says it all.

Caturday Art

Mom Paula is beginning to get her stuff together for the trip to BlogPaws.  For today's Caturday Art, Truffle agreed to pose on the dreaded suitcase and we thin went to PhotoFaceFun to select our artwork design.  We used the pencil drawing effect and like the result.

Waiting for Aunt Vicky

Mom Paula has been friends with Aunt Vicky for almost 18 years.  Aunt Vicky lives in near the beautiful coast of South Carolina with a Poodle named Dudley.  Mom Paula loves to visit Aunt Vicky and play with Dudley.  Recently Aunt Vicky has visited for overnight trips to attend the South Carolina Gamecock sporting events with Mom Paula.  We've never had overnight guests in the 4 1/2 years since we've lived with Mom Paula, so her visits are quite interesting for us.
Don't forget to put on some eye liner

Mom Paula:  Truffle and Brulee are enamored with Vicky.  Vicky speaks much softer than I do and is wonderful with the girls.  She gives them treats, which Truffle loves.  Truffle will even climb onto her lap and take a treat from Vicky thisclose to her face.  Truffle stays close to Vicky throughout the house, even to the point of ignoring me when she visits.  Brulee is fascinated with Vicky.  Brulee likes to follow her in the bathroom and supervise her morning makeup ritual.  The interesting thing about all of this is that Vicky is allergic to the girls.  She takes allergy medication, brings her own pillows, and keeps the door closed to her bedroom while shes here.  That doesn't stop her from giving a lot of love and attention to the girls.  Vicky will be visiting again this weekend to see the South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team play Oklahoma State in the super regional game.  Vicky is a very special person to all of us!

Loving Pets Cat Bowls Review and Giveaway

Have you ever gone to the pet stores and were frustrated because all of the bowls were more for dogs than cats and your only choice was a stainless steel or plastic bowl with no style?  Mom Paula usually comes home very frustrated when she can't find a cat food bowl for us that is stylish, functional, and safe for us.  When she traveled to Global Pet Expo a couple of months ago, she saw some lovely cat bowls from Loving Pets.  They sent us a couple of samples to try out and share with you.
Brulee and Truffle enjoy their kibble from the Silent Diners™ Elevated Cat Diner

We shared our review of the Silent Diners™ Elevated Cat Diner a couple of days ago.  Mom Paula liked this dining solution because the bowls aren't as deep as some, was on an elevated stand, and there were two bowls.  We wouldn't eat our wet food in these bowls because Truffle would push Brulee away from the food and Brulee is already "hesitant" when eating her wet food.  However, the bowls were purrfect for us to eat our kibble.  The bowls are small enough that we don't overeat and each of us has the right portion.  Many of you commented that your cats wouldn't eat that closely together but you could use the bowls for water and food.  The only problem Mom Paula had with these bowls is that we made a mess below them.  The solution was the Bella Spill-Proof Cat Mat.
The Bella Spill-Proof Cat Mat

The Bella Spill-Proof Cat Mat is just the right size for up to three Loving Pets cat bowls.  The mat is fish-shaped and stylishly prevents splashes and retains spills.  The mat has raised edges to contain maximum spillage.  The mat is slip-resistant, has a fish-scale surface, and anti-skid feed to prevent the mat from slipping, sliding, making noise, and avoiding floor damage.  Food and water can be easily removed from the unique pour spout that is formed in the tail.  The mat is non-toxic, BPA-free, and quality tested for both indoor and outdoor use.  Brulee was a little hesitant to approach her bowl at first when it was placed on the mat, but she quickly came to her food bowl and began eating.  Mom Paula loves the mat because any mess on the floor from the bowls is easily cleaned up.
Milano Collection™ Designer Cat Dishes

We like to think we're refined kitties who are accustomed to the finer things in life.  We were very impressed with the two bowls we received from the Milano Collection™ Designer Cat Dishes.  This collection has beautiful full color designs along with the advantages of a stainless steel feeding dish. The stainless steel dish fits into the skid-free rubber base.  The stainless steel bowl removes easily for cleaning and is dishwasher safe.  The designer shell is made from BPA-free ABS plastic.  There are three designs:  Spoiled Leopard, Diva Zebra, and  Princess Polka Dot.  When Mom Paula put these on the floor, Truffle immediately claimed the Diva dish.

Loving Pets offers several other cat dish designs as you can see above.  All of the cat dishes are beautiful and we're sure you can find a favorite for your precious feline.  Be sure to visit Loving Pets to find that special bowl that fits your decor, your cat's preferences, and the functionality you need.

Loving Pets Brings Fur Siblings Closer Together

We don't usually eat too close together, but this Silent Diners™ Elevated Double Cat Diners from Loving Pets enticed us to eat our kibble side-by-side.  These bowls are one of the many unique cat bowls and designs you can get from Loving Pets.
This is one way to get us to eat side-by-side.

Do you have problems with bowls rattling and sliding stands with your current elevated cat bowls? This patent pending elevated bowl set features sound deadening rubber rings around veterinarian recommended stainless steel bowls.  There are skid-free rubber feet on the stainless steel lets to help eliminate noise and prevent the stand from sliding and spilling.  We like how the rubber feet and the rings are color coordinated and removable, which makes the diner completely dishwasher safe.  The bowls are Loving Pets' Ruff N' Tuff bacteria resistant stainless steel.  The Silent Double Diners are available in 3 colors.
Brulee tends to make a little mess when licking her kibble from the bowl.

Brulee tends to make a little mess when licking her kibble from the elevated bowl because she picks up her food with her tongue.  We have a special kitty mat to share with you later that Mom Paula put under the bowl to catch the cat food when this happens.

We're looking forward to sharing a few more items with you this week and will announce a new giveaway where one of our lucky readers can choose a bowl and food mat of your choice.  We wanted to give you a "taste" of these great bowls and prove that we can get along, even when eating. Which color bowl is your favorite?

Hug Your Cat Day

It's Hug Your Cat Day!  We kitties don't always like being hugged, but that doesn't stop Mom Paula from hugging us as much as possible.  We went back to an older photo because Mom Paula was too lazy to update with a new one.  We do admit that she has been working too hard at work and not getting home until late, so we're feeling a little neglected.  And how many of you believe that?
Brulee, Mom Paula, and Truffle
We took the photo above and went to pho.to.com to create a Caturday Art piece.  We used the pastel drawing, which we thought blended in well with Mom Paula's top.  We then added a frame from PicMonkey.  We were pleased with the results.

Wellness CORE Grain-Free Hearty Cuts - Chewy Review

We're a little late with our May monthly Chewy.com review but we have a great product to share with you.  Our selection this month was the Wellness Core Grain-free Hearty Cuts in Gravy
Wellness Core Hearty Cuts in Gravy

We've been a fan of Wellness for quite a while.  We were excited to receive the Wellness Core Grain-free Hearty Cuts in Gravy Indoor formula canned cat food.  This indoor formula is a shredded chicken & turkey recipe that will indulge meat-loving felines.  This formula can be served as a complete meal or a tasty topper.
Truffle enjoying the Wellness Core Hearty Cuts in Gravy Indoor Formula

We thought this would be a food that both Truffle and Brulee would like because it was in gravy which would make it easier for Brulee to eat. We had read that the ingredients were shredded turkey and chicken and Brulee loves shredded meat in gravy canned food.  When Mom Paula opened the container, she was a little surprised to see large cuts of meat in the gravy.  We guess the shredded chicken and turkey is within the cuts.  The food comes in 5.5 ounce cans and there is a lot of food when you empty it on the plate.  We always split a small can between us and we don't always eat all of it.  If you have light eaters like us, you'll need to refrigerate part of the can.
Brulee licking all of the gravy

Both of us immediately began licking the gravy.  Truffle would bite into the chunks and eat it, but Brulee tended to eat around the chunks.  Every once in a while, her cute little tongue would pick up a morsel and she'd eat it.  She really loved the flavor of the food, but had some problems eating the larger morsels.  Truffle cleaned her plate.  Since Brulee liked the flavor, Mom Paula may trying mashing up the morsels for Brulee to see if she'll eat more of the meat.  We don't need to worry about Truffle.

The Wellness CORE Hearty Cuts comes in other tasty flavors of beef, venison and lamb, shredded chicken and turkey, and shredded whitefish and tuna.  The cans come in a case of 24 for $39.99 at Chewy.com.  Don't forget that you can get free 1-2 day shipping with orders of $49+ and there is a discount of 5% if you choose the autoship option.  We're also impressed with their customer service.

Happy 5th Birthday Truffle

Graphic from Zoolatry

Five years ago on this date, our sweet little Truffle came into this world.  We're so lucky Mom Terri took lots of photos and sent them to Mom Paula from day 1.  Truffle was 2.9 oz and looked like a little tabby kitten except for her white face.  Mom Paula was warned that silver shaded Persians were born dark and lightened as they grew older.  The red mark you see on her foot was polish that was applied to her toe so we could tell the difference between Truffle and her brother, Beignet.  Truffle captured Mom Paula's heart from day 1.

Truffle has grown into a beautiful silver shaded Persian.  Her coat has lightened to the base coat of white with the silver tips that give her the silver shaded look.  She has enormous green eyes that can look into your soul when she looks at you.

Happy Birthday Truffle!
